Avast uses a lot of memory, so if you have enough use that. However, over all it would be AVG. Normally DOS mode is not working with Windows XP and virus will not attack in DOS mode becos the era has change to Windows. I would recommend Norton Antivirus (heavy, expensive but reliable) or AVG if u wan something not heavy and free LOL.
