Many antivirus programs Quarantine infected files. Some even try to repair the infected files.

I always choose DELETE.

If a file looks suspicious, like a new .exe file in the Windows/System32 folder, I RENAME it.

If the file name is BigJoke.exe, I called it bigjoke_exe.bak.
That way if later I actually needed it for some reason, I can recover instantly.

You should take some precautions. Run > MsConfig. You can easily uncheck programs and SERVICES which load when you boot.

Run an online scan at www.BitDefender.com.

Install a firewall like ZoneAlarm.

Good luck,
- CarlD

Hi

I'm not sure because I've never had a file in my virus vault for AVG. I do see a button that is second from the left that says "wipe object" when I hold my mouse over it. I'm not sure, but maybe if you pressed that it will remove the file from your computer completely.
