It says there was an error and is telling me to watch the configuration of the updates thing. I don't have a notion about anything like this. It says I urgently need this new update but I don't know what to do. Help, Please! I already have it downloaded so, if I had to redownload it how can I do that, since that is the version on my comptr now?
whatever you do dont install it twice as you will corrupt the software and maybe even your operating system..if this is the case go to your add and remove programs in the control panel then remove it completly then restart your pc and go to this site

press the orange tab that says download and follow the steps…this should install dont worry about updates as the software comes custom with automatic updates enabled

Just try downloading the latest version again. The new version (7.5) seems to have a bit of a glitch on the download. Took me a couple of tries before it installed properly.

Try removing and downloading it again..they had a problem with their web site last month due to overload in downloads…it caused their site to crash.
****Footnote****** Avg free will still be free after January 15 the only version that will be discontimued is avg free 7.1.
You are downloading the new avg free.
Good luck in your download.

Right-click on the little AVG Icon in your system tray (right-bottom corner of your screen where your clock is) and select, Launch AVG Control Center. Now click on Update Manager and click on the Settings button.
If you are connecting to the Internet through a proxy server enter the details here. Click on Help if you are not sure what to enter here. If you have a dial-up connection click on the dial-up tab and tick Use dial-up connections. If you are not sure how these settings work, ask the person who configured your Internet connection to check these settings for you. Click Apply after making any changes and then OK.
Now you are back at the Control Center screen. Click on the Properties button and make sure there is no tick-mark next to the option "Do not ask for the update source". Once again click Apply and then OK. Now click on the Update button. A screen will appear asking you for the source of the update, choose Internet. The AVG Update File Download should appear downloading the updates you need.
